Join our USS Emmons wreck diving trip from Naha and explore one of Okinawa’s most historic and challenging dive sites. Located off Kouri Island, the wreck rests at approximately 40 to 45 meters and is suitable only for experienced divers with the required deep diving and Nitrox certifications.

The USS Emmons is a World War II destroyer that now lies on the seafloor as one of Okinawa’s most significant wreck diving sites. The combination of history, depth, marine life, and large-scale wreck structure makes this a unique experience for advanced divers.

Our standard USS Emmons trip includes 2 dives, with each dive lasting approximately 20 to 25 minutes depending on conditions and the dive plan.

Because of the depth and technical demands of this site, a check dive is required before diving the USS Emmons.

Participation Conditions

  • Age Restriction: 20 to 60 years old
  • Minimum Experience: 50 logged dives
  • Required Certification: Deep Diving Specialty + Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty
  • If you are not yet certified as an Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty diver or SSI Deep Specialty diver, this is a great opportunity to get certified and enjoy the benefits of safer and more comfortable diving.

Important Safety Note

To ensure our deep dives are safe and enjoyable, a check dive is required before diving the USS Emmons.

To enhance safety during our dives, we offer complimentary Enriched Air Nitrox tanks for dives at USS EMMONS.

Due to the depth and potential for decompression sickness, we do not recommend flying the day after your dive, even if there are 24 hours between your last dive and your flight. This precaution minimizes the risk of pressure-related injuries.
